Guys, chill,

This works. I get the new VLC. The fullscreen slider bar etc that appears upon mouse moves rocks my ass and balls.

Stuff like this needs to be available to Hardy users (guess what, intrepid breaks my video on one machine (ta, X11) and audio on another (Ta, screw you, pulseaudio).

I reckon we need more attention to getting goods apps out there that work and beat / match Windo$e for functionality rather than getting “pre-release” / untested pulse / X11 f’in people off.

My tu’penny’s worth after a day reinstalling ALSA and disabling pulse.

Now that Mr Cristoph Korn has broken several THOUSAND ubuntu/kubuntu installations with his pathetic vlc 0.9.4 and various assorted svn “upgrades” what can I say ? Other than that I was completely correct in the first place.

Not only is Mr Korn a complete idiot, so are all the teenage muppets who advised people to use his “packages”.

I am including a warning about the signed key in the post. I am also including to remove the repo after the install. And leave the decision of going for to the users. Maybe that will suffice you.

Needless to say, I totally disagree. And I have been posting to every forum I can find. Ubuntu have closed down the threads discussing this because there have been so many reports of malware.

I go back to what I said before. To give advice to use a repo that does not have a signed key is completely irresponsible. I am not talking about a non-Ubuntu repository – I am talking about the lack of a signed key.

Also, your assurance that “it wont break your system in any case” is complete idiocy. You really ought to think twice before uttering another word about Ubuntu, because you clearly haven’t got a CLUE what you are talking about.

I think “not afraid” says it all. And it wont break your system in any case. Thats enough for me rest is your choice.

This is all very well, but the repo doesn’t have a signed key. Which means it is completely worthless. You people are SO irresponsible – do you EVER give a second’s thought before giving “advice” to others ?
